We will pick you up from your accommodation in Phnom Penh at 5:30 am for the morning tour, or you can go to our meeting point at the Independent Monument of Phnom Penh on your own. Then, we will take a ferry crossing the Mekong River and drive to our boarding site. Upon arrival at the natural lake where local farmers grow lotus, paddy rice, and other vegetables, we will begin to observe various birds such as little egret, Chinese pond heron, tern, Indian Roller, Bee-Eater, White-breasted waterhen, Black-backed Swamphen, Pheasant-Tailed Jacana, Oriental Pratincole, Little Cormorant, Bee-eater, and numerous wetland birds.
We also have the chance to see some little Cormorant and Oriental Darter before having a packed breakfast and embarking on an easy walk to the habitat of the Cambodian Tailorbird. The Cambodian tailorbird is a species of bird endemic to Cambodia, likely confined to a single dense shrub habitat in the floodplain of the Mekong River. Afterward, we will drive to Aural Mountain, which takes around 3 hours on the journey.
Upon reaching there, we will rest and enjoy a cool drink before taking an easy hike to the first camp, where we also have the chance to see forest birds such as Chestnut-headed bee-eater, Blue-eared Barbet, Asian pied starling, forest myna, Chinese Francolin, Racket-tailed Drongo, Grey wagtail, Black-crested Bulbul, White-rumped Shama, White crested Laughingthrush, Asian Fairy Bluebird, and numerous mammals. Our overnight stay at the foothill of Aural Mountain.
