Have you ever dreamed of standing at the edge of the world, where stone giants rise from the ocean and waves crash endlessly at their feet? Our small-group journey takes you to the incredible 12 Apostles at a time when the cliffs are still quiet, giving space for wonder.

From there, descend the Gibson Steps to a wild beach, enjoy a hearty local lunch, and wander through the Great Otway National Park, where waterfalls tumble in hidden rainforests and towering Californian Redwoods guard the path. Along the Great Ocean Road, discover coastal villages, spot koalas in Kennett River, and breathe in the salt air of Apollo Bay and Lorne.

Travel in comfort, and return with memories as vast as the ocean itself. Join us for a day where every stop feels like the beginning of a new story!

We have made it our mission to find the most beautiful and epic hiking destinations all within a short drive from Melbourne. A VW Kombi van was the original adventurer. Her name was Olivia and was restored for maximum comfort on the road. Since these humble beginnings, we have introduced a few newer model VW Caravelles to the fleet. Our intimate, small group hiking tours have been designed for other like-minded folks who share the same enthusiasm, curiosity, and sense of respect for nature and the outdoors that we have. If that sounds like you, go ahead and explore our tours. We’d love to have you along for the ride. See you on the road!

Route details

The tour begins with an early departure from Melbourne, heading straight to the legendary 12 Apostles before the crowds arrive. Here, you’ll enjoy a peaceful walk along the boardwalk and descend the Gibson Steps to reach the wild beach below. Afterward, we’ll stop for a delicious lunch at a local café.

In the afternoon, the journey continues into the Great Otway National Park, where a short hike leads to a pristine waterfall hidden within ancient rainforest. From there, we’ll stroll among the towering Californian Redwoods before following the iconic Great Ocean Road. Along the way, we’ll pause in Apollo Bay for a seaside break and perhaps a scoop of ice cream.

The adventure goes on with wildlife encounters at Kennett River, where koalas, colorful parrots, and kangaroos can often be spotted. Our final stop is the charming town of Lorne, perfect for a beach walk or a quick snack, before returning to Melbourne in the evening.

Had an incredible day exploring Mornington! The coastal trail offered stunning sea views, and soaking in the hot springs afterward was the perfect way to unwind. Our guides, Aaron and Andrew, were friendly, fun, and full of interesting insights, that was amazing! The pace was relaxed, giving us plenty of time to enjoy every moment. A perfect mix of nature, good company, and relaxation, so I highly recommend!

Our group was small, which made the experience even more personal. The hike up was a bit challenging in parts, but the views from the top and the waterfall made it totally worth it. Our guide, Andrew, was patient, knowledgeable, and clearly very experienced. With perfect weather and amazing scenery, it was an unforgettable day - I can’t wait to return to the Grampians!

I joined this trip as a solo traveler and couldn’t be happier that I did. The guide was super friendly, played great music during the drive, and made sure everyone felt included. The whole group was lovely, and the views along the hike were absolutely breathtaking. Truly a memorable experience! :)
