The Muldai (Mulde) Viewpoint Trek, commonly referred to as the Muldai Hill Trek, is a short and moderate trekking experience that leads to one of the stunning mountain viewpoints in the Annapurna region of Nepal. This trail is celebrated for its breathtaking Himalayan scenery, rhododendron forests, less-trafficked paths, and traditional Gurung villages that showcase vibrant culture and warm hospitality. Positioned about 500 meters higher than the renowned Poon Hill (the most famous viewpoint in the Annapurna region), Muldai Viewpoint (3,637 meters) reveals a spectacular panorama of approximately twenty-five towering Himalayan peaks, including Annapurna South, which stands majestically before you. The sunrise from this vantage point is particularly magnificent. Thus, it serves as a tranquil, less crowded, yet equally rewarding alternative to the well-known Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek.

Route details

Day 1
Tadapani

Join us on a journey to Ghandruk (1940m/6,364ft), which takes approximately 4 hours, followed by a trek to Tadapani (2,630m/8,628ft) covering 5.5 km over the course of about 4 hours. Your guided Trek begins after breakfast at your hotel in Pokhara. A guide will pick you up from your accommodation and you will travel to Ghandruk in a private jeep.

Ghandruk, the starting point for this trek, is a culturally rich village renowned for its Gurung heritage, situated in the Annapurna region. The drive from Pokhara to Ghandruk takes around four hours as you navigate through the foothills of Annapurna.

Departing from the lively city of Pokhara, you'll head towards Nayapul along the Beni-Baglung Highway. At Nayapul, the road to Ghandruk branches off to the north. Continuing on this route, you will make a brief stop in Birethanti for ACAP formalities. The road ahead is primarily unpaved and narrow, winding through villages and wooded hills, which may make for a bumpy ride in places. However, the journey is picturesque, offering views of rural landscapes and insights into local life.

After approximately 4 hours of travel, you will arrive in Ghandruk where you can enjoy lunch while the porter prepares to carry your bags. The trek to Tadapani begins from Ghandruk and involves a pleasant 4-hour hike primarily along stone steps through Rhododendron forests, with occasional glimpses of the Annapurna Mountains. While the trail may seem challenging initially, it becomes easier after reaching Bhaisikharka, making the final 1.5 hours more manageable.

Upon reaching Tadapani, you will check into a lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
