Route details
The drive from Kathmandu to Panauti takes approximately an hour and a half and provides stunning views of the lush green hills in the Kathmandu valley. Along the route, you'll encounter traditional villages, terraced fields, and small towns with local markets. The journey is adorned with beautiful temples and monasteries that showcase Nepal's rich religious and cultural heritage.
In Panauti, you can visit an 800-year-old Hindu temple featuring statues of Lord Vishnu, the Sun God, and Chandra, the Moon God.
Additionally, there is an opportunity to explore the local Ghats (cremation grounds) along the riverbank.
You can also take a walk to Balthali through the paddy fields before enjoying an overnight stay at a hotel.

Accommodation
Various accommodation options are available in the Balthali village. However, these facilities are mostly basic and provide good beds and blankets with local cuisines. There are teahouses, guesthouses, and homestays available at a low cost. Similarly, camping is also possible in Balthali, but extra preparation and prior booking are necessary for arrangements. On the other hand, comparatively cozy and luxurious retreats are also available, but they are expensive.

- We give you a free duffel bag, trekking cap, maps, and t-shirt during your pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu. The duffel bag will be used to pack your trekking supplies.
- For every two participants, we assign one porter. The porter will carry the duffel bag, which should weigh around 10 kg/22 lbs., throughout the walk.
- Daypack bag for daily used stuff like cash, documents, papers, a water bottle or bladder, a camera, toiletries, sunscreen, a notebook, clothing, etc. (with a waterproof cover).
- You can store your luggage (on-trekking items) at the hotel in Kathmandu, and we can assist and help.
- Total luggage for the Kathmandu-Lukla flight is (15 kg/33 lbs.), including duffel (10 Kg/22 lbs.) and backpack (5 kg/11 lbs.)
- A down jacket with a hood(cap) to be warm in altitudes above 3,000m.
- We can provide a down jacket for USD 35. In case of loss or damage, you need to pay back the cost of USD 200 per item.
