Have you ever ridden a bike where the road disappears into mountains, rivers cut across your path, and nomads wave as you pass? This journey takes you deep into Western Mongolia, into the raw landscape of the Altai — a place of glaciers, high passes, and valleys where life still follows ancient rhythms.
Over 13 days, you’ll cycle nearly 470 km through mountain tracks, river crossings, and wide alpine plateaus. You’ll ride past snow-covered peaks, camp beside milky rivers, and climb to sacred passes marked by ovoos. Along the way, you’ll meet Kazakh nomads, share tea and bread in remote valleys, and witness daily life shaped by herds, weather, and tradition. Highlights include the UNESCO-listed Altai petroglyphs, the remote shores of Khoton and Khurgan lakes, and encounters with eagle hunters near Ulgii.
The journey is fully supported, with tents set up each night, freshly cooked meals, and time to rest after demanding rides. Nights are spent under open skies, days are earned through effort, and every kilometre brings a deeper connection to the land. If you’re ready for a cycling adventure that challenges your body and stays with you long after the ride ends — this is your road!
