Your adventure begins today in Antigua with a walking tour focused on the city's rich history. You'll stroll through its colonial streets adorned with pastel-colored facades and admire the impressive restoration of various churches and civic buildings, while also appreciating the rustic charm of others. During your tour, you will:

• Visit the City Hall Palace.
• Explore the Palace of the Captain’s General.
• Tour the Antigua Guatemala Cathedral.
• Learn about Mayan archaeology.
• Check out the Paseo de Los Museos complex, which includes six museums and three art galleries.

In the afternoon, your itinerary includes visits to:

• La Merced Church.
• Cerro de la Cruz for a stunning panoramic view of the city.

We'll go on a two-day hike up Volcan Acatenango and spend the night at our campsite nestled in the mountains. Experience the spectacular eruptions from the nearby Volcan Fuego and take in breathtaking views. On the second day, reach the summit of Acatenango for stunning panoramic views before heading back to Antigua in the afternoon.

Today promises to be the highlight of your adventure as you ascend Acatenango to witness the awe-inspiring sight of an active volcano in eruption.

At 8 AM, you'll depart from the hotel and enjoy a one-hour drive to the base of Acatenango Volcano, arriving at the village of La Soledad where the hiking trail begins. The trek up the volcano features four distinct microclimates, each taking about an hour to trek.

During the first hour, you'll hike up a steep path through agricultural land, which locals use to access their crops—this serves as a perfect warm-up.

In the second hour, you'll walk through a lush, high-altitude cloud forest, home to various exotic birds, including the renowned resplendent quetzal.

As you exit the cloud forest around midday, you'll be greeted by incredible views of other majestic volcanoes in the region: Atitlán, Tolimán, San Pedro, Santa María, Santo Tomás, and Tajamulco.

Afterward, take a break to enjoy a picnic lunch while soaking in the beautiful surroundings.

You will then proceed to your campsite, where you can celebrate this remarkable achievement. Spend your evening around the campfire, stargazing and enjoying the view of the nearby active Fuego Volcano.

If the weather is favorable, you'll wake up early to witness the sunrise over the volcanic peaks and start a 45-minute to 1-hour hike along a gravel path through a pine forest. This trail is the steepest one yet, leading you to the rocky and windy summit of Acatenango.

At the top, you'll take a break and take in the stunning 360-degree views of the Guatemalan highlands extending all the way to Mexico.

After having breakfast and packing up, you'll begin the three-hour descent back to La Soledad. This route takes a different path, allowing you to enjoy even more beautiful scenery as you pass through various microclimates.

Following that, you'll transfer from Acatenango to Lake Atitlan, check into your hotel, and unwind for the remainder of the day.

Today, you will go on your journey along the shores of Lake Atitlán. Spanning an area of 130 km², the lake's waters shift in color from deep blue to green. It was formed around 84,000 years ago due to a volcanic eruption and reaches depths of up to 341 meters, making it the deepest lake in Central America.

Don't forget to bring your camera to capture the stunning views of the three volcanoes that encircle the lake: Atitlán, Tolimán, and San Pedro.

You will enjoy a private boat tour to explore the charming Mayan villages that dot the lakeside. Our private boat will transport you across the water, stopping at various villages where you can meet locals and discover their way of life.

There will be several stops along the route, providing ample opportunities to purchase souvenirs or snacks.

Today, you'll wake up to stunning views of the lake and its majestic volcanoes before meeting your guide for the day's adventure. You'll begin by kayaking westward along the northern shore of Lake Atitlán for approximately two hours. Along the way, you'll pass by villages situated on cliffs above the lake, take a refreshing swim, or even try some cliff jumping. Your journey will conclude at a location near the village of San Marcos La Laguna, where you'll set aside your kayak and put on your hiking boots.

Next, you'll follow a lakeside trail that connects the villages, enjoying sights of the San Pedro, Tolimán, and Atitlán volcanoes. The hike will take you along the shoreline and through quaint villages for about 1.5 hours, eventually leading you back to your lodge.

Later in the day, you'll depart from Atitlán and head to Antigua.

Today, you'll explore some of the key villages surrounding Antigua. Our journey will include stops at markets, plazas, and churches that are integral to the history of each small community. At the end of the day, you'll have the opportunity to experience a facial treatment during a local tour at a Macadamia farm.

We'll pass through Santiago Zamora to visit the women's cooperative led by Filomena, a community leader who supports children in a small school by raising funds through cultural tours.

Following this tour, you will return to Antigua to participate in the Bean to Bar Chocolate workshop. Here, you'll learn about chocolate from southern Guatemala and the process of crafting delicious chocolate blends using locally sourced ingredients.
