This thrilling high-altitude journey through the Andes will take you on a 16-day exploration of the vibrant and rugged landscapes of Ecuador. Our team, specializing in trekking throughout Ecuador, is excited to guide you through stunning volcanic scenery. The highlight of this tour will be the ascent of the renowned Chimborazo volcano, standing at 20,664 feet (6,300 meters), which Edward Whymper first climbed in 1880 and is known for having the summit closest to the sun on Earth.

Prior to that, we will tackle the impressive Cayambe volcano at 18,991 feet (5,790 meters) and Cotopaxi at 19,342 feet (5,897 meters), the highest active volcano in the world. You will benefit from excellent acclimatization, crucial for a successful climb, and enjoy breathtaking views of Ecuador's volcanoes, particularly from the magnificent ascents of Imbabura and Fuya Fuya. This is truly an exceptional high-altitude adventure!

5 peaks over 4200m!

Required level

ā€“ Physical: this high-mountain tour requires excellent physical condition. In addition to regular training (sport, walking, etc.), we recommend that travelers wishing to take part in this trip take a stress test before their arrival. This will limit the risks during ascents and in particular coronary and vascular problems.

ā€“ Technical: no technical level is necessary. The Cotopaxi, Cayambe, and Chimborazo volcanoes glacial climbs offer slopes of 30 to 40 degrees. There is no vertical part that requires the use of climbing techniques; there are just three ā€œlongā€ glacier walks. For those who have never used crampons and an ice ax, an ice school will be given by the guide.
