Standing tall at 22615 feet (6893 meters), Ojos del Salado is the highest volcano on Earth and the second-highest peak outside of Asia. This towering giant of the Chilean Altiplano offers an experience as surreal and majestic as the Tibetan Plateau itself.
Before we take on the summit, you'll have several days to acclimatize in one of the most unique landscapes on the planet: the Atacama Desert. Our journey includes scenic day hikes and climbs, visits to shimmering saltwater lakes where flamingos gracefully wade, and rejuvenating soaks in the steamy Laguna Verde hot springs—a turquoise gem set against a dramatic backdrop of snow-dusted volcanoes and crimson desert hills.
Our adventure kicks into high gear as 4x4 vehicles carry us to an astonishing 17,000 feet. From there, we ascend to Refugio Tejos, a remote mountain hut perched at 19,350 feet—possibly the highest of its kind in the world!
The final climb is a rewarding push over gentle scree slopes and scattered snowfields to the summit.
