Kuzu Zangpo! "Kuzu Zangpo" is a traditional Bhutanese greeting that wishes you good health and happiness. My name is Karma, a Bhutanese travel specialist and founder of a local tour company dedicated to creating authentic and meaningful journeys across Bhutan. I was born and raised in a remote village in Eastern Bhutan, where life revolved around family, community, spirituality, and nature. Growing up in the Himalayas gave me a deep appreciation for Bhutan's culture, traditions, and pristine environment, values that continue to inspire the experiences I design today. Before entering the tourism industry, I worked as a systems manager for nearly 15 years and had the opportunity to live and work in Ethiopia, Thailand, the United States, and Lebanon. These experiences broadened my perspective and strengthened my passion for connecting people through travel. Today, I specialise in private, family, and small-group tours that go beyond the usual sightseeing. Whether sharing a home-cooked meal with a local fami

Route details

Day 1
Thimphu

Upon your arrival at Paro, Bhutan's sole International Airport, you will be greeted by our guide and driver. Your first stop will be the National Museum of Bhutan, which is located in the 17th-century fortress known as Ta Dzong. The museum's collection offers a glimpse into the rich history and culture of Bhutan.

Next, you will transfer to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, which is situated 55 km from Paro and takes about 1.5 hours to reach. Paro's altitude is 2,200 meters, while Thimphu is at 2,334 meters.

Thimphu is home to around 115,000 people and serves as the primary hub for commerce, religion, and government in Bhutan. Notably, it is the only capital city in the world without traffic lights or commercial billboards.

Once you arrive in Thimphu, you'll visit the impressive 169-foot Buddha Dordhenma Statue at Kuensel Phodrang, which overlooks the Thimphu valley. This statue was erected to commemorate the 60th birthday of His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the Fourth King, and to promote peace globally.

You will then have some free time to explore Thimphu town at your leisure.

Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at Kuenphen Rabten Resort or Hotel Amodhara.
