While the Guanacos Valley route remains closed, we’ll approach Aconcagua via the Ameghino route, a pristine and less-traveled alternative to the crowded Normal Route. This expedition follows the Ameghino Valley, named after the striking Ameghino Peak (19,530’), and merges with the upper Guanacos route for an optimal ascent. With a higher success rate due to a longer approach allowing better acclimatization, this non-technical route ensures a smoother climb.

At Plaza Argentina Base Camp, enjoy the comforts of an established camp with a chef, on-site medical support, and porters for higher carries and descent—amenities unavailable at lower Guanacos Base Camp. Above Camp One, we reconnect with the upper Guanacos route, gaining the best of both worlds: a superior acclimatization schedule and a well-supported base.

Join us for an unforgettable Aconcagua expedition, where adventure meets comfort on one of the mountain’s most rewarding routes!

Tour provider's comments

Aconcagua is a big mountain period. If you have climb Kilimanjaro before and you did well on it Aconcagua can be your next step.

Fairly fit people that never climb a mountain before can successfully climb Aconcagua as well. It is ideal to have some precious experience.
