High in the Albanian Alps, the trail crosses a wild mountain world of sharp peaks, green valleys and clear rivers. Starting in Tirana, this journey leads through Shkoder, Lepushe, Vusanje, Theth and Valbona, following part of the famous Peaks of the Balkans route.
Hike to Vajusha Peak on the Albania–Montenegro border, cross alpine meadows and forest trails, visit the Blue Eye of Theth and pass Grunas Waterfall on the way to Valbona. Along the route, stay in traditional guesthouses, share local meals and experience the warm hospitality of remote mountain villages.
The hikes are mostly moderate, with some more challenging sections, and are suitable for travelers with a reasonable fitness level.
